The Ugly Side of the Storm….

Hey Yall!! Boy its so good to see Yall here today on Our Front Porch. Glad to see Yall made it through the storm of Hurricane Florence! I tell Yall the truth I was so scared there for awhile. We did a whole lot of Praying I can tell You that! We were so very thankful to see all the Prayers from Our Neighbors on Facebook and Twitter too! I think that really help to turn things around. Only God can take a devastating Category 4 Hurricane and turn it into a Category 1 before landfall! God is so good Yall!!

Matthew 8:23-27
23 Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. 24 Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” 26 He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. 27 The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”

Did Yall happen to see any of the fake weather reports? I know they were all over Facebook.

Like the one where the guy was fighting to stand up in the wind of the Hurricane and then 2 teenagers walked by in the background very calmly and with no trouble at all!

Or the one where the two reporters were standing in the ditch with water up to Their waist and the camera man with water hardly above His ankle….. Life is bad enough with out faking things.

I guess the title of this Blog kinda gives away what I want to talk to You about today. So often what We see of others on the internet is picture perfect. Most Folks don’t want Their Friends, Family, Coworkers and Acquaintances to know Their not so perfect things, failures, faults or hardships. The reality of Their life gets disguised into something They have in Their heads of what Their life should be (but isn’t). They only show the best parts Of Their lives to the World.

Now I was taught that You don’t put Your dirty laundry out on the Front Porch but I might as well hit on this subject while I have Your attention.

John 8:4 Let He who is without Sin cast the first Stone.

Take for instance the Ranch…. Now Yall I dearly love My Home. But its not perfect. There are lots of things that I need to fix but just don’t have the money to yet. Since my divorce I have very little money. The Refrigerator went out during this Storm and the washer a few months ago and then the dryer went out a few months before that. But I am working hard and I trust God and believe that He will provide a way even though I do not see a way. He has given Me a Big Dream with this New Ministry and I know it has and will grow daily. His plan is bigger and better that anything I could imagine.

Proverbs 3:6 Seek His will in all that You do and He will show You which path to take.

Take for Instance My Relationships…. Most of Yall know I have had 2 long relationships in My life time that I spent the better part of them doing exactly what I said….disguising them into something I thought they should have been to Everyone else. Funny thing is the harder I tried to make them work, the worse they became. Now I am in a new relationship and engaged and trying very hard to not disguise anything ever again.

Psalm 46:10 Be still. Let Go and Let God.

Take for Instance My Job. This job I prayed so hard to get even though it was over an hour drive from the Ranch. I was on the verge of losing everything. I needed this job desperately for Me and the Kids. It was hard and stressful from day 1. I ended up having a Stroke at work that I still have not fully recovered from. But MY GOD is good! Im still there. I am still working. And even though it takes Me away from the Ranch and the Kids, it provides a way for Me to keep it and to be the sole support of My children.

2 Corinthians 12:10 When You’ve done everything You can do, that’s when GOD will step in and do what You can’t do.

Take for instance Me, Myself and I….. I am not perfect. I have lots of faults and I have learned a lot of Lessons the hard way. I like to think about it this way…. I spent a lot of years working on My Sermons. How can I teach or help Anyone else, how can I understand what You are going thru if I never sinned. No I was not perfect. I am still not perfect. I will never be perfect. But I strive each day to be a Better Person than I was the day before.

I guess the point I am trying to make here is Everybody is going through something. Whether They put it on Their Front Porch or not. We all have problems. Big Storms or small ones, there is no need to exaggerate Them. They are bad enough on Their own. But with God’s help We can make Them better. We can Pray together. We can check on Each Other and help Each Other out. During the Everyday Storms of life We can lift Each Other up in Prayer and in Actions. That is the way God meant for Us to be. God loves Us all.

Proverbs 11:27 Anyone can find the dirt in Someone, be the One who finds the Gold.

I want to stop and take a moment to encourage You to email Us or message Us on Social Media with Your prayer Requests and Concerns. We love Yall and We have a wonderful Group of Prayerful Folks in Our Front Porch Friends Group that would be happy to Pray for You and Your Loved Ones. Prayer is such a powerful thing. A truly wonderful way for Us All to get closer to God.

I am thinking of planning a small Get Together for Coffee somewhere in the Georgetown Area next month if Anyone would be interested in Meeting for Prayer and Praise, please email or message Us. I will let Yall know more when We find a place to meet.

Matthew 18:20 For where two or three gather in My name, there I am also.

Thank Yall so much for stopping by to check on Us and visiting a spell. Always a special treat to see Ya on Our Front Porch! Be sure to come back and visit Us again real soon and tell the Family We said Hey!

~Love from the Ranch~
